Light Snowfall (Tree Marionette)

Montello, NV

November 11, 2015

During a residency in the Great Basin desert in Nevada, a tree was used as a marionette-like puppet which was controlled by approximately 100 ft. of cord. Fresh snowfall, which accumulated on the tree boughs throughout the morning, were shaken off with the manipulation of the cords. At one point, the cords were tied to the artist's arms and legs, requiring much more dramatic leaping and jumping. The entire performance lasted half an hour.
