Coffee Run to Khepri Cafe
Khepri Cafe opened this week. I've been stopping by regularly on Saturday mornings, so this coffee run entry is really a combination of a few weeks' worth of visits. It's an easy 1 mile run to its location next to the Kedzie Brown line stop, and I've been varying my routes to add some distance, even if it's just an extra few blocks: head east on Ainslie towards the river to Western then back west on Wilson, or run east on Montrose via Pulaski and around back to the train stat

Coffee Run to Dollop in Lincoln Square (formerly The Grind)
I ran into a good friend this morning at Dollop. She saw me pass by in front of the windows, and waved at me when I walked in. She was doing some writing--a regular weekend routine of hers--waiting for her husband's rehearsal to finish before heading to church together. This was a pleasant surprise, and a change from my usual solitary state of mind post-run. Run: 3.14 miles to the cafe (with another 2.4 back home). Coffee: small regular Drawing: I spent most of my time catchi

The Run: Five miles to Palmer Square starting at 7:30 a.m., with another five back. The snow had not yet begun (it's moving sideways as I type this) but I felt strong throughout and the traffic was light. Cold

Chinatown
After helping Sam move a few things into his new condo on the same floor, including a piano and a loft bed, we ate dinner in Chinatown--partly because it was convenient & close by, but also for Asian solidarity against the racist sentiments developing over the COVID-19 virus.

Coffee Run to Wise Cup (Oak Park)
This weekend's long(er) Coffee Run was to Wise Cup, which is about 2.5 miles away from my sister's place in Elmwood Park. I decided to run there in advance of our weekly meetings to discuss North Branch Projects initiatives, almost completing a half marathon in total. I'd get a lift back from my other sister who was driving to meet us there. The Run: Essentially, my 10.2 mile route took me through Irving Park Road through Central Ave and into Addison, then a straight shot int
